Consumer Reports is offering a free app called Permission Slip that helps you take control of your personal data online. It identifies sites that may have your data and helps you submit a request to have it deleted or no longer sold.
Nothing is more annoying than seeing one price advertised and then learning there are additional mandatory charges associated with its purchase. Now, Uncle Sam is proposing a series of moves to end most junk fees and require companies to be upfront when they advertise a price. In other words, they will need to advertise a complete price so the price you see is the price you pay.
