Finally we have some good news about digital coupons issued by supermarkets. We complained that many less-than-tech-savvy shoppers are shutout of these weekly deals because they don't use the internet or a smartphone (or haven't mastered use of shopping apps). Now one chain is testing a simple system to make their digital deals easily available to everyone.
That is our Mouse Print* story this week.
You would think the most stolen cars list would include Teslas, and other fancy schmancy new cars. The reality is the top 10 most stolen vehicles are mostly five, 10 or 20 years old! Perhaps thieves are after the parts. MrConsumer's 1996 Honda Accord just misses the list because the 1997 model is on it. And the top stolen car last year was a full-size Chevy pickup with nearly 50,000 of them taken.
We told you about a lawsuit two years ago (see original story) about Hefty selling recycling bags into which you might put cans and other recyclables for pickup at the curb. There was just one problem. The bags themselves were not recyclable in many municipal systems. So Hefty was sued and now they have settled the case. Therefore, if you bought Hefty Recycling bags (or Great Value ones) since mid-2018 thru August 30th this year, you can get $2 back per box if you file a claim here. No proof of purchase necessary for six or fewer boxes.
[Ignore their ad at start.] The WSJ says that now may be the worst time to buy a new car because of high demand and poor selection of vehicles available.
