Bargain of the Week

New Costco Membership - $15 After $50 Rebate eCard

Costco seems to run this promotion only twice a year (June and December). New members (defined as not having a membership for at least 18 months) pay $65 for a membership, but get back a $50 Costco merchandise ecard. So the net membership price for a year is $15. Must purchase this via Groupon by June 22.

Colonoscopy Prep on the Cheap

If you don't want to pay really high prices for a prescription cleanout preparation to get you ready for a colonoscopy, Consumer Reports suggests using Miralax (or the store brand thereof). Obviously, speak to your gastroenterologist first. Seven years ago, MrConsumer had a bad experience with Miralax and now will only use Clenpiq irrespective of the price. Clenpiq is a prescription liquid that requires taking one 5.8-oz. bottle of the almost pleasant stuff (along with lots of water) twice during the cleanout process. Also, forget taking a gallon of that other disgusting glop that is sometimes prescribed.
