That's been the experience of many travelers who find they cannot book a flight with their miles when and where they want to go. Now a new test of seat availability has just been released showing that on average, three out of four free seat requests were honored. Southwest beat every airline by scoring 100% availability. American, on the other hand, failed to have free seats almost half the time.
