    What Does a Car Really Cost?

    If you buy a car you think you can afford just based on selling price, you are only evaluating half the equation, says Consumer Reports. You have to look at the total cost of ownership which includes maintenance, repairs, insurance, depreciation, and operating costs, as well as purchase price.
