Customer Satisfaction Rankings 2007

Mad on Phone Every quarter the University of Michigan checks consumers' satisfaction with major retailers, insurance companies, financial institutions, and more. For the last quarter of 2007, customer satisfaction is generally down. Interestingly, in some categories, "all other" has higher ratings than the big brand name companies.

The Downside of Debit Cards

    Should You Prepay Your Mortgage?

    We have been told for years that it made sense to put some extra money toward your mortgage whenever you could. Typically, we were advised to make a 13th payment per year, or to pay every other week, and that would painlessly result in a 30 year fixed rate mortgage being paid off in about 23 years, saving tens of thousands of dollars in interest. Now Consumer Reports says you might be better off keeping the mortgage and investing that extra money elsewhere.
